Nanaimo RCMP is seeking help from the public to locate a man who allegedly robbed a local grocery store at knifepoint.

Around 5:40 p.m., Mounties were called to the Superette Foods at 687 Albert St. following an armed robbery, according to RCMP in a news release. “After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left on foot and was last seen running toward Nicol Street,” said RCMP in the release.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Front-line officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Officers also reviewed security video showing the suspect maskless just prior to entering the store.
