KUALA LUMPUR: It is an action-packed day at the High Courts here as Datuk Seri Najib Razak made appearances before two separate courts for his 1Malaysia Development Bhd and SRC International trials.
The day started with the cross-examination of former 1MDB CEO Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi at the 1MDB trial before High Court judge Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah at 9am Monday .
The proceeding was adjourned around 10am to give way for High Court judge Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali to deliver his much-anticipated decision in the SRC International trial, where Najib is accused of seven charges involving the misappropriation of RM42mil in SRC funds. Wearing a black suit with orange tie, Najib made his way to Justice Mohd Nazlan's court located at the floor above Justice Sequerah's amidst heavy media presence.
Najib was already seated inside the court when his lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah arrived, who was greeted with a thunderous applause by Najib's supporters waiting outside the courtroom. Among those in the public gallery are Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and MIC deputy president Datuk M. Saravanan.The 1MDB trial is expected to resume later in the afternoon.
