N.L. privacy commissioner tells City of St. John's to release settlement details from the SJSE 'workplace dispute'
A subsequent request, under the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act , to the city for the financial statements of SJSE was made, and the response contained redactions in the 2021 expenditures, but not in other years requested. The city said potential claimants could assume the amount was for damages and look at it as a baseline, which it said is “inaccurate, misleading, detrimental, and frankly not the case.”
The OIPC ordered the city to release the information to SaltWire and give written notice of its decisions regarding the recommendations in 10 business days.
