Team N.L. gymnast Gabe Flynn earned the inaugural Pat Lechelt True Sport Award during the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, P.E.I.ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A young athlete from Newfoundland and Labrador has been awarded the inaugural Pat Lechelt True Sport Award during the 2023 Canada Winter Games.
Gabe Flynn, a gymnast for Team N.L., was presented with the award at the Seaport Stage in Port Charlottetown The award is named after Pat Lechelt, who was known as one of the leading Chef’s de Mission for Team Alberta. Lechelt led Team Alberta to the Centennial Cup and the Jack Pelech Award, awarded to the province, demonstrating true spirit and congeniality at the Canada Games.
