The child has been missing since 2019, officials recently realized.
A New Jersey man has been charged in the killing of his girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
After the Division of Child Protection and Permanency asked authorities to conduct a welfare check on Durham’s five-year-old twin daughters on July 26, it was determined that one of the girls was missing, officials said. Officials now allege Chiles engaged in conduct related to the child’s death around that time and disposed of her remains, according to prosecutors, who did not elaborate on what they think happened.
