Green’s journey to WWE has been something of an odyssey.
, Green reappeared in 2015 under her real name, as a contestant on the sixth season of the re-launched Tough Enough, during which she finished fourth among female contestants. She was signed by WWE in 2018 as part of NXT, called up to the Friday Night Smackdown roster in November 2020 but was released in April 2021 before returning earlier this year as part of the Royal Rumble.
“I once did a tour through what I would say was central Canada — we worked in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta in the dead of winter,” Green said. “It was freezing cold. Those tours are probably my favourite because I was just learning how to wrestle, I was just learning how to be on the road, I was learning really everything it takes to be a successful wrestler in this industry.”Article content
“I actually won my first wrestling championship in Ottawa,” she revealed. “That’s a fun little fact: I won my first championship in Ottawa, so that holds a special place in my heart for sure.”And while many Canadian-born wrestlers who work in the United States or elsewhere profess to miss a lot of things about being at home, from ketchup chips to maple syrup, poutine or our winters, Green said it’s the people she misses most, as well as how safe she feels at home.
“Besides that, I’m so Canadian, and you’ll understand this in the sense that when I walk down the street, I smile, I wave, I say hi to strangers, I pet people’s dogs. America is just not like that. When I say hi walking down the streets here, I kind of feel like people look at me like I have two heads and three eyeballs.
