Wei Dong Chen bought his seven-figure winning ticket in Richmond for Lotto 6/49's draw on Feb. 28.
The Burnaby resident earned the seven-figure payday from the Feb. 28, 2024, draw for Lotto 6/49.
He told his wife about the nation-wide Classic Draw jackpot win first, but she thought he was tricking her, according to a release from the BC Lottery Corporation . "My hand was shaking and I could not believe it," Chen explained. "I told my wife and she said, 'Are you teasing me?' She did not believe it!Chen bought his ticket at Parker Place Convenience Centre inside Parker Place on Number 3 Road in Richmond.Chen said he's now going to make plans to retire, but also plans on using the money to help his daughter finish her schooling.Chen said he discovered his winnings using the BCLC! Lottery App.
