Dahl and her husband, Brad Scarborough, took over the Colquitt location from Steve and Vicki Farrell when it was still Radio Music Theatre. Since 2011, MBT has specialized in musical revues and comedy sketches, and that includes everything from classic Broadway tunes to a Christmas show based around The Beatles. Leaving the space, which Dahl and Scarborough have been performing in since they were newlyweds, is like leaving home.
By comparison, the black box space at 1277 Queensbury Lane is only eight years old and unlikely to be snatched up by a high-rise project. It will allow them to update the Music Box's sound system and lighting while still maintaining the cozy seating arrangements. Dahl and Scarborough are particularly excited by the prospect of expanded bathroom space and a free parking garage.
