Manu Ginobili’s selection as Hall of Fame finalist thrills former teammates

“I’ve been very close to him for so long,” Mills said. “He has meant so much to me in my upbringing and my basketball career.” “Just a really humble, down-to-earth, family-loving person who cares a lot about a lot of other people, including his teammates, and wants the best for them,” Mills, 33, said of Ginobili, 44.“A beast. His competitive spirit is second to none and he never gives in and plays with a whole lot of passion, and that passion comes pouring out,” said Mills, speaking as though his friend was still active.

Murray started 48 of the 81 games he appeared in as a second-year pro in 2017-18, Ginobili’s final season.
“To be a pro,” Murray said. “Just how he showed up every day, how he took care of his body, how he was in the weight room. ... Just being a true professional.”
