Homewood police on Wednesday said the injured officer continues to recover at UAB Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The chase began about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday when an officer initiated a stop for a traffic violation on a white Hyundai Sonata in the 200 block of Lakeshore Parkway.
