Porter County was doing a brisk business in the first few hours of early voting Monday morning. Almost 200 voters had cast their ballots for municipal elections at four voting sites by noon.
“So far, it’s been kind of busy,” said Porter County Elections & Registration Director Sundae Schoon. “So, not too shabby. Valpo’s contested pretty good so I’m kind of surprised it’s not as busy as Portage, but it’s split between two locations.” At the time she spoke, just after noon, the North County Complex at 3560 Willowcreek Road in Portage had seen 82 voters, while the Porter County Administration Building, at 155 Indiana Ave., and the Valparaiso Fire Training Center, at 355 Evans Ave.
