Shots have been fired near the site of the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade on Wednesday afternoon, authorities are reporting.

Police said the shots were fired west of the station near a garage, citing that "multiple people were struck." Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins said eight to 10 people were injured but declined further comment, according to the Associated Press.Authorities are asking anyone nearby to leave the area "as quickly and safely as possible" so that first responders can get through to treat shooting victims.
Officers were working to clear Union Station itself after the shots were fired. Shortly after, police announced they were releasing everyone from instead the station."We still have several needing reunification.
