It was almost as if Michael McFetridge was waiting for someone to ask him the question. 'I was out doing something and someone mentioned this project,' said the Terrace

"I was out doing something and someone mentioned this project," said the executive director of the Terrace and District Community Services Society of the multi-million dollar seniors housing and youth health centre building now under construction on Eby St.

To McFetridge, it's the best of both worlds — a purpose-built place with health services and life skills training for young people and equally in demand and needed housing for seniors. While the province's housing agency, B.C. Housing, is financing the housing, TDCSS raised the money for the Foundry health centre.

Combining the two took shape when the province began introducing its Foundry youth health centre concept around the province. Around the same time, the society realized it had valuable asset in the vacant lot beside its main building located on the corner of Eby Street and Lazelle Avenue.
