The 2021 MTV EMAs are almost here, and MTV is honoring a new group of activists with its 2021 MTV EMA Generation Change Award. This year's honorees are fighting for LGBTQ+ rights around the world, using their talent and passion to advocate for queer communities globally.
The 2021 MTV EMA Generation Change honorees are Amir Ashour, Matthew Blaise, Sage Dolan-Sandrino, Erika Hilton, and Viktória Radványi. They'll be celebrated during Sunday night's EMAs ceremony, and each winner will choose an organization or NGO to receive a monetary donation from MTV. The awards are in partnership with the LGBTQ+ advocacy group All Out.
“What unites them is an incredible sense of courage and a determination to serve their communities," Matt Beard, Executive Director of All Out said in a press statement. "Together, they combine, power, love and humility and they represent the very best of the global LGBTQ movement.”, "We are honored to use our biggest global music event to shine a light on five young inspiring leaders who are taking a stand for LGBTQ+ rights and driving meaningful change around the world.
