The coronavirus pandemic may be over in the minds of most people, and the Biden administration may be ending its COVID-19 national emergency in May. But we should still be living in fear of the virus — according to MSNBC, at least!
When Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared to be the only State of the Union attendee wearing a mask on Tuesday, MSNBC hosts began sniping at the crowd. “A thousand people in that room … I know this is wrong, but it does give me the ‘ughs’ a little bit to see the average age in this room and then to see precisely one mask,” host Rachel Maddow said.Another host agreed, adding that the “optics” aren’t good.
They may hand-wring all they want, but the fact is that we're not in an emergency anymore. Not to mention that masks were never as effective as we were told. If people such as Sanders are worried about COVID, they're welcome to cling to their N95 masks. Everyone else has moved on — and that's a bipartisan reality.
The anchors at MSNBC must know at some level how completely out of touch they are. Even President Joe Biden, near the beginning of his State of the Union speech, announced, “Today, COVID no longer controls our lives.” But that’s only true if you have common sense.
