EVO Entertainment plans to open movie theater, bowling complex at former Sears store at South Park Mall

The Austin-based company said its South Side project will include 12 screens, dine-in cinema service with luxury recliners, a scratch kitchen and bar, video arcade, 14 bowling lanes, virtual reality experiences and bumper cars. “This was the perfect opportunity to join a community we’ve been watching for a while now,” EVO CEO Mitchell Roberts said in a statement. “San Antonio’s southside is one of the most vibrant, active and rapidly growing areas in the city, and we’re thrilled to bring quality family entertainment to the neighborhood.”The company operates entertainment complexes in Schertz, Fredericksburg, New Braunfels, Austin, Kyle and San Marcos. It plans to open three more in Southlake, Dallas and Hampton, Va.
