PORT KLANG: The movement of containers and cargo at Port Klang’s three terminals is expected to be adversely affected due to the heavy downpour and flooding in Klang and Port Klang.
In a statement issued Saturday , the Port Klang Authority said deliveries will also be delayed because of this.
It added that operations were also affected in Northport, Westport and Southport due to damages to access roads in the areas due to the flooding. It said vessel berthing would also be delayed as the inclement weather has caused a backlog of vessels at the outer anchorage and many more ships were also expected to arrive over the coming days.
It called upon terminal operators, forwarding agents, haulier companies and goods clearing government agencies to come together to assist and ensure goods are able to reach the markets on time.
