Police received several reports about the two-vehicle crash at about 5:40 p.m.Watson said the motorcyclist was southbound on Neilson Road near Tapscott Road when he was struck by the car.
"This is an incredibly heartbreaking event and our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time," Watson told reporters near the scene on Monday night. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is co-operating with police. There's no word on charges.
Be aware of motorcyclists on road, drivers told Watson said officers have interviewed some witnesses but are asking anyone who has relevant dashboard camera video, or who saw the collision but has not yet spoken to police, to come forward. Roads in the area were closed to traffic on Monday night as members of police's traffic services unit investigated and motorists were urged to take alternate routes.
