Motorcyclist killed in crash with minivan in Carlsbad [Breaking]
A 67-year-old man was killed Tuesday after his motorcycle smashed into a minivan at an intersection near a freeway off-ramp in Carlsbad, police said.
The crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Cannon Road and the north Interstate 5 off-ramp. Witnesses told police the rider, headed east on Cannon Road on a Kawasaki motorcycle, drove though the intersection against a red light and crashed into a Toyota minivan.Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released, pending notification of his family.
The minivan driver, a 72-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.Investigators are seeking additional witnesses and asked anyone with information to contact Officer Adam Bentley at 339-5559 or [email protected].
