Motorcycle flips, rider dies on State 4 in western Contra Costa County
HERCULES — A motorcyclist died in a solo crash early Saturday on Highway 4.
Officers responded at 1:49 a.m. to a report of a crash on Highway 4 near the Christie Road exit to Franklin Canyon Golf Course in Hercules. The motorcycle had been traveling eastbound on the highway when it overturned. The rider, ejected onto the roadway, was pronounced dead at the scene by California Highway Patrol officers. Authorities did not identify the victim.
In a statement, California Highway Patrol asked that any witnesses contact the agency’s Contra Costa division at 925-646-4980.
