A Brampton councillor who knows the family says Joti Singh Mann’s mother saved his life by confronting his assailants armed only with a piece of her son’s shoe.
Peel police are investigating a violent, daylight attack on a popular Brampton realtor and media personality outside his home that sent him to hospital.
Security footage posted on social media, which police confirmed was of the incident they are investigating, shows a man walking towards a white Jeep parked in a driveway on a suburban street and climbing into the driver’s seat. As Mann closes the door, three people in dark clothing and surgical masks can be seen approaching.
Councillor Gurpreet Dhillon, who spoke with the Star on Thursday and earlier visited with the family in hospital, said that woman was Mann’s mother and she likely saved her son’s life. Dhillon said Mann has already had surgery to amputate his big toe and needed 150 stitches across his body, but when he visited him he was able to speak.
