Mother Nature played a little havoc with the CP Women’s Open Monday.
While the rain held off long enough to allow many of the participants in the LPGA Tour event at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club to get their practice rounds completed, the Pro-Am had to be to be halted at 3:30 p.m. because of lightning in the area.
We really don’t need to pay much attention to rain delays unless one takes place after the first golfer hits the fairway at the 6,500-yard layout in Round 1 Thursday morning, but the organizers were forced to close the course as a result of the weather Monday.Article content The forecast for the weekend looks great, while there’s a 60% chance of showers listed for Thursday and Friday.The CP Women’s Open hasn’t been held since the event wrapped up at the Magna Golf Club in Aurora in 2019.
