A Calif. mother has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, alleging she was let go after being told repeatedly to keep her children quiet on calls while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rios has since spoken out about the alleged experience in a viral Instagram post, which features her daughter holding a sign that reads, “My mommy got fired because her boss didn’t want to hear me in the background." TORONTO -- A California mother has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, alleging she was let go after being told repeatedly to keep her children quiet during work calls.
“That first week I reached out to human resources and let her know how stressed and overwhelmed I felt working from home and the unrealistic expectations and comments that I was receiving.” Delvaux has filed Rios’ case in the San Diego Superior Court, listing seven claims against the employer including gender discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
CTVNews.ca contacted the company regarding Rios’ case; however, a request for comment was not returned.
