MORGAN HILL – A pair of Morgan Hill homicides has been solved, police announced Tuesday night.
The cases were reported May 29, 2020, and July 19, 2021. In the first, 28-year-old Michael Duran was driving northbound on Butterfield Drive near Fisher Avenue when he was shot and killed by a person in another vehicle, and in the second, 33-year-old Humberto Cossio was gunned down as he walked through the intersection of Monterey Road and Spring Avenue.Police on Oct. 26 and Oct.
“The Morgan Hill Police Department extends our condolences to the families of Michael Duran and Humberto Cossio, and we thank them for their patience and support during our lengthy investigations,” the department said in a statement. “We hope our detectives have provided a step forward in bringing closure to the families.”
Gomez-Guerra and Catalan-Murga were booked into Santa Clara County jail on charges of murder and participation in a criminal street gang. The 17-year-old and 15-year-old were booked into juvenile hall on similar charges. A spokesperson for the police department did not immediately return a message seeking additional information about the two cases, including whether they were related.
