'It means a lot to me — more than they could possibly imagine.' Weeks after his life was saved, a Monrovia High School student is thanking those who helped him after going into cardiac arrest.
“I am very thankful for my entire town and everyone who has been there to help me,” Jacob Mikeworth said.
First responders were on the scene performing CPR and using an AED before Mikeworth regained consciousness and was taken to Riley Hospital for Children. Mikeworth spent nearly a week at Riley and now wears a life vest that will deliver a shock if he needs it. He says he want to be a therapist one day.
