Professor X is the best there is at what he does.

Warning: Spoilers for Immortal X-Men #15 Ahead!Professor Charles Xavier has always dreamed of a world where his X-Men and humankind could live together in piece, but Orchis killed that dream when they slaughtered Krakoa. This proves to be incredibly unfortunate for the mutant-hating villains, because now Professor X sees no issue in slaughtering Orchis in return. A particularly brutal first fight shows the Professor's capacity for violence may exceed even that of Wolverine.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In Kieron Gillen, Paco Medina, and David Curiel's Immortal X-Men #15, Sebastian Shaw and Selene continue going about repairing Shaw's depleted fortune with the aim of looting what remains of Krakoa . Xavier remains on the island as its sole inhabitant, sending any Orchis soldiers who would intrude on his solitude running from his telepathic illusions.

This assassination attempt goes horribly wrong. Despite the Orchis soldiers being forewarned about Xavier's newfound telekinetic capabilities, the next panel cuts to the morning after the confrontation. The soldiers' dismembered bodies litter the valley where they tried to ambush their target, while Xavier sits on the beach and steels his resolve.

The level of violence Xavier displays in this confrontation with Orchis is simply staggering. For such a formerly pacificistic character he holds nothing back against his assailants, leaving severed heads and limbs in his wake . This level of violence is expected from figures like Wolverine, infamous for the gruesome levels of injury he is able to both take and inflict; in fact, Xavier's cerebral nature has often acted as a direct foil to Wolverine's berserker rage in the past.

With this beachfront slaughter, the death of Xavier's 60-year-old dream is complete. Although his actions are borne out of a mistaken belief that he is responsible for the death of Krakoa's population , Charles has crossed a threshold from which he can never go back. Professor Charles Xavier is now at war with Orchis, and by the time he is done he may very well beat the X-Men's most brutal killer at what he does best.
