Montreal resident assaults woman at McDonald’s drive-thru over request for extra sauce

According to court documents, a dispute arose when the man, Raphael Levert, and his sister became upset over an issue with their order just after midnight at the chain’s Newman Blvd. location. The employee who served the pair testified the sister believed two sauces were missing from the order. When she pointed out that they were in the bag, the sister said she wanted two more, the employee said.

The employee testified that she told the pair they would have to pay for the extra sauces, to which the sister replied she wouldn’t leave until she was given the sauces for free — so the employee gave them to her. Several witnesses testified Levert and his sister then took turns getting out of the car, shouting and aggressively banging on the drive-thru window to get the employee’s attention. The employee testified the pair were screaming at her to give them her employee number so they could complain about her to her bosses.

That’s when a woman in the car behind them yelled at them to leave the employee alone, according to court documents. Levert, who was intoxicated and already furious about his order, left the drive-thru window, approached the woman and assaulted her, the documents say.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Calgary Herald, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.By clicking on the sign up button you consent to receive the above newsletter from Postmedia Network Inc.
