Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced Thursday that the County temporarily suspended American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to an organization
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello announced Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024 that the County temporarily suspended American Rescue Plan Act funds to an organization that oversaw millions in federal dollars meant for community outreach.
The Community Resource Collaborative was tasked with managing the contract for the Neighborhood Collaborative Project , which includes 13 community-based organizations that partnered together to provide support services to residents. As a fiduciary, the CRC was supposed to pay the organizations for their work using the invested funds.
"Because of the financial mismanagement we were notified of, we had to shut off the funding," he said. "We had to stop those payments from going. One of my two concerns is the impact that is going to have on the work they, , are doing because they can’t get paid right now."
