We have a day game today. 3:00 Eastern start on the holiday Monday. John has done more tinkering with the lineup today. Jansen is batting in the number two spot. I prefer Vlad ahead of him, but I don’t really have a complaint. Maybe Turner will end his long hitless streak and Bo his shorter hitless streak. We had some complaints about yesterday’s plate umpire, and apparently, they were well-founded complaints: He had a very wide strike zone .
In his ten games behind the plate this season, visitors were ‘favoured’ nine times, but yesterday was the largest edge to one team he’s had this year. And it is Jamie Campbell’s birthday today. Happy Birthday. We may be getting bullpen help soon: Kevin Gausman told reporters he “probably should have gone on the IL” to start the season. He’s right, of course, but then the team we were short on starters at the time. Teams have to make hard decisions sometimes.
