STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOSCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Moncton Fisher Cats’ pitching has been the story through the first three games of a New Brunswick Senior Baseball League playoff series against the P.E.I. Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders.

Jackson Dekker authored the latest chapter, pitching a one-hitter in the Fisher Cats’ 3-0 road win on Sept. 22.It marked the second game in a row the Fisher Cats have shut out the Islanders, following Justin Cormier’s complete-game, four-hitter in a 3-0 win in Game 2 in Moncton, N.B., on Sept. 20. The Islanders, who rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the series opener 3-2 in Charlottetown on Sept. 18, have been held scoreless in 19 of the 20 innings the team has batted.

P.E.I. will look to change those numbers in Game 4 at Kiwanis Park in Moncton on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. Game 5 is back in Charlottetown on Sept. 25 at 8 p.m.At Memorial Field, Dekker worked around six walks and finished with two strikeouts in a complete-game effort.Veteran right-hander Jake Beck took the loss. Beck worked six innings, allowing three runs but only one earned as the Islanders committed two errors. Beck gave up six hits, three walks and had one strikeout.
