A local family will bury their 16-year-old son Tuesday after he was shot to death earlier this month.
His mom spoke exclusively with us at Nelson Park, which said was the last place she saw her son alive.
"I miss my boy," Tamekia Jackson said in tears. "That was my only son, my baby and they took him from me."When Buddy didn't come home for curfew, his mom, Tamekia knew something was wrong. She filed a missing persons report, but a few hours after filing it, a detective showed up. "He said, 'We found Jarrell,'" Jackson said. "I'm thinking Jarrell got in trouble with the law or something. I was not expecting them to say 'Your son is dead.'"
Police found Buddy shot to death in an alley on North Guilford Avenue just a few weeks ago. Investigators believe it was all over an argument, and they're still searching for his killer."They said he was shot multiple times," she said, "and I said 'Oh my gosh why? Over an argument?'"Buddy wanted to be a Columbus fire fighter.
