Nathan Chasing Horse, facing multiple child sex crime charges in the U.S., is now facing a new charge of sexual assault out of B.C.
The claims made in the 50-page document, which was obtained by Postmedia, have yet to be tested in court, but provide a clearer view of the case’s local connections. A different Tsuut’ina woman made a sexual assault report to the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service on Jan. 23 this year, which was forwarded to the Las Vegas police in relation to the ongoing investigation. The alleged offence occurred in Canada in 2007 when the woman was 15 years old. Chasing Horse allegedly arranged several sexual encounters between the woman and other men over the course of multiple years — which she told police Chasing Horse often joked about, saying things like “I’m going to sell you to my bros” — and police cite that as the impetus for one of the two sex trafficking charges he’s facing.
The Keremeos victim claims Chasing Horse sexually assaulted her when he visited B.C. for a show put on by the Lower Similkameen Indian Band in September 2018. She told investigators Chasing Horse stayed on her property during the visit after she’d lived with him south of the border through the first half of the 2010s.Article content
She said Chasing Horse encouraged his wives to learn how to shoot a gun and said he often told them “if something were to happen to him, he had a ‘plan’ for them.”
