Specifics of Castro's violation were not disclosed by the league at this time. The Nationals say they will be releasing Castro at the end of his suspension.in a statement obtained by Maria Torres of The Athletic."We fully support the Commissioner’s decision and will be releasing Starlin Castro upon the completion of his suspension.”
The league's announcement went on say to that, in accordance with its policy, Castro will participate in"a confidential and comprehensive evaluation and treatment program supervised by the Joint Policy Board."
