Arizona battles No. 14 Utah in Salt Lake City, seeking to end a three-game losing streak

Michael Lev SALT LAKE CITY – Playing some of its sloppiest football of the season, Arizona trails No. 14 Utah 28-10 at halftime of their game Saturday evening at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

The Wildcats have a 249-243 edge in total yards. But the Utes have a plus-22 edge in average starting field position.De Laura lost a fumble on the opening drive. Arizona held and forced a punt on the ensuing possession, despite a pass-interference call against Christian Roland-Wallace that had the veteran cornerback fuming.

Utah responded with a 75-yard touchdown drive, capped by freshman quarterback Nate Johnson’s 8-yard keeper. The drive did feature a sack by Hunter Echols, Arizona’s first QB takedown since Oct. 1 vs. Colorado.
