'Mission: Impossible' composer teases that he's working on the 'Dead Reckoning Part One' trailer.
Composer Lorne Balfe has revealed that recording sessions for the Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One score are underway in London, at the AIR Studios. Balfe, who also scored the sixth film in the franchise, Mission: Impossible — Fallout, shared several pictures from the recording session in a tweet on Saturday, and wrote in a follow-up tweet that fans will hear early snippets of the score, perhaps in a trailer, “soon.
COLLIDER VIDEO OF THE DAY Balfe’s score for Fallout had more than a few hat-tips to his mentor Zimmer’s work on Christopher Nolan’s films. Zimmer, by the way, scored the second film in the franchise, which was directed by John Woo. The first film, directed by Brian De Palma, was scored by Danny Elfman. Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams brought his regular collaborator Michael Giacchino to score that film.
Dead Reckoning Part One had a particularly difficult production, which was impacted by numerous pandemic-related delays and resulted in a budget that has reportedly ballooned to nearly $300 million. Production on the eighth film got underway recently. Dead Reckoning Part One brings back franchise veterans Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt.
