Missing man found fatally shot in a ditch, death declared a homicide, authorities say
A dead person found shot to death in a ditch has been identified as Danail Strawhun, who had been reported missing after leaving a party, endingStrawhun had been reported missing Dec. 11 by his family. According to the Harris County medical examiner's office, he died at 11:41 a.m. Dec. 10. The body was confirmed to be Strawhun Thursday.
Strawhun’s death was declared a homicide. He suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and extremities, according to the medical examiner's office.Family members said Strawhun had been at a party Dec. 9 in Galena Park. They last heard from him around 2 a.m., said Jodi Silva, a spokeswoman for Houston police. He was last seen leaving the 1400 block of 9th Street.
Strawhun was found in a grassy field at 5100 South Acres Drive Dec. 10. A passerby saw the body and reported it to the Houston Police Department.Strawhun is one of six men who have gone missing in the area in recent weeks. While investigators do not believe the cases are linked, thes, including those of Ridge Cole, Delano Burkes and Alejandro Torres.
A man who had gone missing in Friendswood also died but his fatal injury appeared to have been self-inflicted, officials said. And the body of formerwith friends near Canyon Lake but his cause of death had not been released.
