'Be-prepared-to' memorandum calls for potential aid from Alaska National Guard along nations Southwest border.
“be-prepared” notice is nothing out of the ordinary according to Alaska National GuardFAIRBANKS, Alaska - On Jan. 5, the Alaska National Guard received a memorandum authorizing them to begin training for a “possible mobilization” to the Southwest Border between the U.S. and Mexico.
The dispute specifically pertaining to a section of the border in the city of Eagle Pass. The location has seen ain recent years and to prevent those from happening, the State of Texas put up barbed wire making it more dangerous for migrants to cross the Rio Grande into the U.S. However, the federal government, specifically U.S. Customs and Border Security, have said the barbed wire has interfered with their ability to perform their duties.
This memorandum instead is part of standard operations at the national level, also working to prevent illegal immigration along the Southwest border. Alan Brown, the Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Alaska National Guard called it a “be-prepared-to” memorandum. The name implying possibility, but no official orders yet.
