Home Office figures revealed that 1,341 people made the 21-mile journey in 46 boats last month

Six times as many migrants crossed the Channel in small boats in January as in the same month last year.. This compares with 223 people in 15 boats in January last year and 87 people in January 2020.The French authorities prevented 945 migrants from crossing in 29 boats last month.
