Netherlands star Vivianne Miedema has returned to training after being forced into isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.
Miedema, 26, tested positive for the virus last week, and missed the 3-2 win over Portugal and the 4-1 victory against Switzerland in the group stage of the European Championship. The return of the Arsenal forward is timely, with the Netherlands facing a huge quarter-final against France on Saturday. The Netherlands will also be without one of their other leading figures against France, after Lieke Martens was ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury she sustained in the win over Switzerland.Miedema started the Netherlands first group match of the tournament, playing 90 minutes as they drew 1-1 with Sweden.
Those two victories against Portugal and Switzerland saw them place second in Group C, finishing behind Sweden by virtue of an inferior goal difference.Elsewhere, Germany face Austria on Thursday and Sweden play Belgium on Friday.
