Generosity is to be admired not only at Christmas, but every day of the year
In my analysis, Slaight’s philanthropic tendencies seem to largely fit into a couple of central themes: a desire to give people greater access to life-saving physical and mental health procedures, and a means for adults and young children to gain more accessibility to music and the arts to enrich their lives.
It goes without saying that some people will agree with the choice of recipients of large financial gifts, and others will disagree for personal, political and moral reasons. Altruism isn’t a one-way street, after all. We obviously look at issues and matters in our own unique ways, and we place different emphasis on certain ideas and concepts.
