Ahead of receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this week, an animated Jordan spoke over Zoom about stepping away from the Rockyverse and his influences for the fight scenes. “We needed an antagonist that was going to be as complex, layered and sophisticated as our hero and, I thought, what better person to do that than someone who knows you the best. Usually, it’s the people closest to you that can hurt you the most. We felt, like, taking them back to that shared childhood trauma would develop the perfect antagonist for Adonis later on down the road … Damian Anderson represents so many people that we know out there, that exist in the world.
