Kipnis said the Mets were struggling despite having the largest payroll in the big leagues because they lack veteran leadership.
“All those veterans and no leadership,” said Kipnis.“I’ll say it again, all those veterans and no leadership,” answered Kipnis.
“Said what I said, we’ll move on cause I don’t have the energy nor the want to for Twitter back-n-forths! While Lindor chose not to respond directly to Kipnis, his wife, Katia Reguero, did. On Twitter she said, But it wasn’t enough to stop Lindor and the Mets. Lindor won it on a two-out single off closer Emmanuel Clase.“Jeremy said, ‘If you get something in the middle, try and put it in the second deck,’” said Lindor. “It didn’t work that way, but it was good enough.”
