Met Eireann has warned of 'localised thunderstorms' and 'lightning activity' tonight
The national forecaster issued the thunderstorm alert this afternoon and it will remain in place until 10pm tonight.
People can expect "localised thunderstorms" as well as "lightning activity" along with heavy downpours" in these areas tonight.The "heavy and thundery" showers could result in possible spot flooding in some parts of the country. The rain is expected to continue overnight but will become isolated with some mist and fog patches developing with temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
Becoming drier early in the night under broken cloud with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, with light southerly breezes.
