The “Yellowjackets” star said on a podcast that she lost touch with her “Heavenly Creatures” co-star once Winslet “became a gigantic, international movie star.”
Lynskey, 45, and Winslet, 47, played the lead roles in the Oscar-nominated 1994 psychological drama “Heavenly Creatures” when they were both teenagers., adding, “We developed such a bond that for a long time we couldn’t let it go. We would write each other letters and talk on the phone all the time. We were in constant contact for so long.”
Lynskey said they stopped talking once the “Titanic” actress “became a gigantic, international movie star.”However, Lynskey revealed in Thursday’s podcast episode that she has not seen the “Mare of Easttown” star since 2009 when they ran into each other at the premiere of “Away We Go.”“Kate Winslet is doing movies, and you’re getting to witness that talent and those performances,” she noted. “This is an actor who comes along once in a generation.
