Meghan Markle has interviewed former first lady Michelle Obama for the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, which the duchess guest edited.
Duchess Meghan first asked the former FLOTUS to participate in her"secret project" over a lunch of chicken tacos while she was still pregnant with her son, Archie. Their Q&A was fairly short, but Obama's responses left the duchess"somewhat speechless" as they covered big topics from parenthood to girls' education.
The duchess called Obama's responses a"thoughtful, reflective and beautifully curated narrative – a gentle reminder not of how but of why she has become such a globally respected public figure." However, this wasn't the their first time speaking; theyin December and"chatted for a long time" while the former FLOTUS was on her book tour in London.
Meghan wrote that it's"easy to feel connected" to Obama."There’s something magical about the way in which she draws you in with her endearingly frank, down-to-earth personality," she said.
