ICYMI - Meghan flies back to Canada to reunite with baby Archie, left behind as couple dropped U.K. bombshell
Meghan Markle has reportedly jumped ship and caught a flight to Canada to reunite with her eight-month-old son, Archie. The child was left in Canada as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped a royal bombshell on the monarchy Wednesday, indicating they will be stepping back from senior royal duties.
The move threw royals and royalists alike, although Harry, sixth in line to the throne, appears to have been slowly distancing himself from the family since marrying the American actress. Harry remains in England, where he has to stay at least until Thursday for an engagement at Buckingham Palace, the Mail reports.
— ITV News October 18, 2019The move by the couple seems to have Canadians excited, with a Postmedia poll showing that a majority of Canucks would be cool with Harry kicking around Rideau Hall as governor general, if that same thought were to ever cross Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s mind. Some have pointed to the virulent racism Meghan has experienced since the couple made their relationship public in 2016, particularly by the British press. It became so bad, so quick, that Kensington Palace issued a statement about the harassment later that year.
