Meet the people who prove you don't need a university degree to land a dream job in media
IT's a common myth that to land your dream job in the media and creative industries you need to have a university degree in your back pocket.
In its first year the course racked up an impressive 95% graduate employment rate at some of the biggest names in the digital and advertising worlds, including the likes of R/GA, Clear Channel and Rubicon."I have always considered myself creative and knew I wanted to work in a role that allowed me to explore this," says Alfie."I started looking for jobs in the media and advertising industries but I kept getting rejected because I had no experience at all in the industry.
"We then learnt about the media landscape, media owners and what they do and how a campaign gets executed using a number of different companies."Alfie has since started work as a Junior Executive at Kinetic Worldwide, working on campaigns with brand such as Nike, Unilever and BP. "The industry is crying out for different voices to create fresh perspectives, new ideas and ultimately better advertising that represents everyone, not just the few."The BFS offers a free 12-week course for those wanting to kick start their career
