Sarah Boeker of Summerside, P.E.I. dabbled with macrame in high school and university. It wasn’t until later in life that she purposely took up the craft again.
MEET THE MAKERS: Yarmouth County artist believes creativity is one of the most authentic forms of self-expressionSo now, Boeker is at home with her kids and doing as much macrame in her free time as she can. About a year ago, she also turned it into a business aptly named, My Macrame by Sarah Boeker.
Sarah Boeker created this custom piece for a client. Because there were no online tutorials how to make it, she had to put on her creative cap to figure it out. ContributedBoeker says she has always been creative. She loves to draw and paint, and she is known to be crafty, both with her kids and around her home. Her oldest son, she says, is following in those footsteps and Boeker says he is very talented at drawing and would like to learn to do macrame with her.
