Meet Ryan Huska, the Flames’ next head coach yyc Flames
He had his five minutes of fame
Five minutes and 51 seconds, to be exact. That was Huska’s total icetime during his lone NHL appearance — a one-night stand with the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 5, 1998. The opponent on his unforgettable evening at United Center? None other than the Calgary Flames. The forward call-up was rarin’ to go again a few nights later, but Blackhawks veteran Brent Sutter declared after warm-up that he was ready to return from a groin injury and Huska was soon reassigned to the IHL’s Indianapolis Ice.
