Algoma Repertory Theatre and Sault Theatre Workshop invite community members to a Meet and Greet event to discuss a new partnership and future programming at the theatre space.
NEWS RELEASE ALGOMA REPERTORY THEATRE ***************************** On Saturday June 13, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. Algoma Repertory Theatre and Sault Theatre Workshop are pleased to invite members of the community to drop in for a special Meet and Greet event at 121 Pittsburgh Ave.
The afternoon will offer the opportunity to learn more about an exciting new partnership focused on revitalizing and reimagining the theatre space, and gives attendees a way to participate in the planning for future programming offered there by Sault Theatre Workshop. The two passionate performing arts organizations have a shared vision: to refurbish and transform the existing building into a fully accessible, vibrant, and sustainable cultural hub that will serve artists, audiences, and the broader community for years to come.
The Meet and greet offers an opportunity for the public to: Sault Theatre Workshop is particularly eager to hear from the community as they are excited about this new chapter. While the past several years have brought challenges, they have also led to a renewed sense of purpose. After almost dissolving, this new partnership is offering a lifeline they don’t intend to waste.
They are inviting feedback from the theatre community - as performers, volunteers, audiences and patrons - about what is important to preserve in their offerings, and what new opportunities may exist for them to explore. Community consultation gathered at this meet and greet will be used to develop a strategic plan for the organization, mapping the road forward and providing focus and direction.
“This partnership represents a significant step forward for the performing arts in Sault Ste. Marie,” said Marc Beaudette.
“By working together, we can breathe new life into this space and ensure it becomes inclusive, welcoming, and adaptable for all members of our community. ” The initiative aims not only to restore the building, but also to create a dynamic cultural hub that supports local talent, attracts new audiences, and strengthens the arts sector in Sault Ste.
